An extremely pleasant nose of red fruits, vanilla and spices (Grenache, Syrah, Old Carignan, Cinsault & Mourvèdre).
This wine is soft and velvety on the palate, and, the tannins are not too excessive.

Food pairing:  Red meat, poultry, spicy food, pasta, all types of cheese...

Serving temperature: 18°C

Tasting notes:

A beautiful intense color.

The nose is extremely pleasant with notes of red fruit, vanilla, spices and herby scrub lands.

In the mouth, this wine is soft and velvety and the tannins are not excessive.

The wine is long in the mouth, well structured and may be appreciated right now.

It will match perfectly with red meats, poultry and all types of cheeses.

Domain:

These are typical Corbières varietals.

Grenache, Syrah, Old Carignan, Cinsaut and Mourvèdre.

The Chateau, which faces the Montagne Alaric, belongs to the Bonfils family since 2000.

Many years ago, in the XVIth century, Chateau Vaugelas supplied wine to the Abbey, in Lagrasse.

Terroir:

The vineyard is set on wonderful schistous soils which are actually the ancient alluvial plain

where the river Orbieu runs on the edge of the domain.

Vinification:

After the stems have been removed, the grapes go through a fermentation process

entirely done under temperature control.

The juices then spend 20 to 24 days in stainless steel vats where they are treated with care

in order to extract the best of each varietal.

The wines then age in oak casks for 6 months.
