History:

 

The history of Château Rouzes Moulinet is narrowly linked to the history of Pomerol.

All vines are located on the South slopes of Pomerol.

The estate belongs to the Forton Moulinet family since 1863 who is willing to raise its wine in the great tradition using modern technics.

 

Vineyard:

 

Area: 3,2 hectares of vines divided in 10 parcels.

Soil: A gravelly clay subsoil and varied top soils made up of pebbles, gravel and ancient sand, which combine to form a very rich terroir.

 

Grape variety:

 

Merlot 80%

Cabernet Franc 15%

Cabernet Sauvignon 15%

 

Vinification:

 

The bunches and grapes are minutely screened on a sorting table.

With 14 temperature-controlled vats, minutely selected, plot-specific wines can be made, thus enhancing the blends that will be crafted at the end of the process.

In this way, Château Rouzes Moulinet preserves tradition and innovation.

Aged in oak barrels for 18 months, renewed every year by a third.
