Best Sommelier Of The World 90/100

Gold Medal Paris 2018

Wine Enthusiat 89/100

Rich and well balanced in the mouth, enhanced by the fine mixing of spices, ancient rose and cherries notes.

The tannins are pleasant, tight and fat (85% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc & 5% Cabernet Sauvignon).

Food pairing:  Red cooked meat, in sauce game, Asian food, great cow cheese...

Serving temperature: 18°C

Tasting notes:

The color is bright garnet-red with ruby gleams.

The flavors of red fruits and pimento, remind the typical aroma of the Cabernet-Sauvignon.

They are added to vanilla notes as well as to mellow and sweet licorice that the mature Merlot usually reveals.

The tannins felt like pleasant, tighten and fat, are now matching up.

The wine is rich and well balanced in the mouth, enhanced by the fine mixing of spices, ancient rose and cherries notes.

The château Coucy has been named in memory of an ancient english family who settled in Aquitaine in the fifteenth century.

The estate is situated in the Montagne Saint-Emilion classified land, satellite of the very famous Saint-Emilion vineyards.

Terroir:

The vineyards spread over 20 ha (50 acres) and grow on clay and chalky soils.

Vinification:

The process distinguishes itself by the following characteristics : a manually grapes harvesting, a full destemming, a light sulfating, a long time maceration from 5 to 6 weeks under a steady temperatures checking, in order to be kept up below 25°.

The malolactic fermentation takes place in 100% french new oak barrels, for 1/3 of the total vintage volume and involving a warming up system.

The remaining 2/3 get the same processing in wine casks of 2 and 3 wines.

Through all the steps from grapes picking to winemaking end, storing included, the best cares are taken of the wine before it leaves the

estate, so that the final consumer’s pleasure is great and constant.
