The vineyard of Clos des Religieuses is located in Puisseguin and has been owned by the Leynier family for few generations.

 

Vineyard:

 

10 hectares on rocky and clay-calcareous soil with calcareous under soil.

 

Grape variety:

 

Merlot 60%

Cabernet Sauvignon 35%

Petit Verdot 5%

 

Vinification:

 

Long fermentation of the skins (21 to 30 days) in thermoregulated cement tanks. 

Traditional aging in cement and stainless steel tanks. 

20% of the wine is aged in oak barrel.
